How to make a cup of tea

The perfect cup of tea is very personal. We have learned how to make tea from our mothers, it is the practical variant of traditional Chinese tea rituals.

  1. Put loose tea in a cup or in a teapot
  2. Add hot water
  3. When the leaves are opened, and dropped to the bottom, the tea is ready to drink

Refill with hot water for a second, third and maybe fourth time and drink several cups delicious tea from the same portion of tea leaves.

Experiment with the temperature, quantity and steeping times for your perfect cup of tea. Mrs Tea uses only half a teaspoon for her perfect cup of jasmine pearls. And for Mr Tea's perfect cup of Silver Needle, he has the tea steeped for at least 10 minutes.

From over 500 varieties we selected 12 extraordinary and special teas. We tasted every tea at different times of the day (at breakfast, in between, at dinner, in the evening, at work, in company or alone) for several days, to taste all aspects of the tea.

You can also experiment with tea pairing. For example, Mrs Tea liked Lapsang Souchong only after the combination with blue cheese. We also discovered the flavor-enhancing effect of Yunnan Gold with ‘stroopwafels’.
